AVMF REACH Animal Care Program
The AVMF REACH Program helps AVMA-member veterinarians provide charitable veterinary care when an animal owner is experiencing financial hardship. Pet owners are not eligible to apply directly. The current program provides reimbursement for eligible veterinary care already provided within the previous two months; estimates and pre-approval are not eligible. AVMF states that eligible cases involve illness or conditions requiring immediate veterinary care, and routine preventative care and elective procedures such as spay/neuter are excluded. Grants may be up to $1,000 per case, subject to program and applicant limits. Applications are submitted through the AVMF REACH online portal using the veterinarian’s AVMA credentials.
